 I did had some wonderful news at the end of last with one of my clients in Virginia.  I had been working with Karen of The Feeling Friends for the past 9 months setting up her business foundation and preparing her for 2 million in seed funding.  Well, we had our second major pitch to Venture Capitalist last Thursday and she was given a terrific acquisition offer.   I’m so excited for her and I’ve been ask to be a part of her executive team.   Needless to say a lot of negotiations and decision lie ahead.

A Must Have: Value Proposition Statement

A value proposition is a statement of the business tangible outcomes or results that you deliver to you clients.  It should clearly and concisely describes the unique value of a company’s products and services. Phrased differently, it is the company’s core objectives, which break through the marketing noise and set it apart from the competition.

Business Drivers of Significance (Primary reason why client need you … compliance, funding, goods, sales, productivity)
Movement (Increase / Decrease/ Strengthen/ Save)
Process (Unique Methods)
Success Factors & Metrics (Time Frame / Dollar Amount / Percentages)

The statement must identify at least one unique value. For example, a small bakery’s value proposition could state that it bakes all its in-store products the same day: “Always fresh. Guaranteed every day.”

Examples of powerful value proposition include “Google is the search engine of the world” and “Wal-Mart is the leader in low prices and huge selection.”

Something has to give.
